Person holding their neck beside a damaged car

Whiplash treatment in Brentwood, NW Calgary

Whiplash happens when the head is thrown forward and back, most often in a rear-end collision. Pain and stiffness can take a day or two to appear. Physiotherapy and chiropractic care help you move comfortably again, and after a car accident in Alberta treatment is billed to your own auto insurer, with no referral needed.

How we treat whiplash

Manual therapy

Gentle joint mobilization and soft-tissue work to ease pain and restore movement.

Exercise therapy

A progressive program for neck and shoulder strength and control that you continue at home.

Dry needling

For tight, painful muscles, when it suits your plan.

Posture and ergonomics

Changes to driving, work and sleep set-up so progress holds.

Your physiotherapist may also bring in our chiropractor, massage therapists or kinesiologist, all in the same clinic, so your recovery plan fits together.

Questions about whiplash

Anything else? Send us a request and the front desk will get back to you. Open 7 days a week, weekdays until 7 pm.

How soon should I start treatment?
As soon as you can after the collision. Early, gentle movement usually helps more than resting the neck for long periods.
Do I need to see a doctor first?
No. A physiotherapist or chiropractor can assess you and start treatment under the protocols, and will refer you to a doctor if anything needs medical attention.
How long does whiplash take to heal?
Most whiplash injuries improve within weeks to a few months. Your physiotherapist gives you an estimate at the first visit and reviews it as you progress.
