Concussion care in Brentwood, NW Calgary
Most people recover from a concussion within a few weeks, but headaches, dizziness, neck pain and trouble concentrating can linger. Concussion physiotherapy finds which systems are still irritated, the neck, the balance system or the eyes, and builds a step-by-step plan back to your normal routine. Crowchild Physiotherapy treats concussion after sports injuries, falls and car accidents, with no referral needed.
Open 7 days a week, weekdays until 7 pm
Concussion symptoms we treat
- Headaches, including headaches that start in the neck
- Dizziness, unsteadiness and motion sensitivity
- Neck pain and stiffness after a hit or a whiplash-type injury
- Blurred vision or difficulty reading and using screens
- Fatigue and difficulty tolerating exercise
- Trouble returning to work, school or sport
A concussion can happen without hitting your head: a fast jolt, such as in a car accident, can be enough. If symptoms are getting worse, or you have repeated vomiting, confusion, weakness or a severe headache, go to the emergency department.

How we treat concussion

Exercises that reduce dizziness and help your balance system adapt.

Hands-on treatment and exercise for the neck when it is driving headaches or dizziness.

Practice that improves focus, tracking and tolerance for screens and busy places.

A paced plan for exercise, work, school and sport, adjusted as your symptoms settle.
Returning to work, school and sport
Rest helps in the first day or two, but long periods of complete rest can slow recovery. Your physiotherapist sets symptom-guided steps, light activity first, then more demanding tasks, and checks how you respond before moving on. For athletes, return to full contact follows a stepwise protocol and medical clearance. We can provide progress notes for your employer, school or coach when you ask.
Insurance and direct billing
We bill most benefit plans directly; concussion after a car accident is billed to your auto insurer, and after a workplace injury to WCB.
